Kitchen Island

Two weeks ago Mr. B built me an island for the kitchen.

And why am I just telling you about this now?

Well you see I wanted to wait until it was completely done, as in I painted the base of it. But then I got babies and was distracted by the cuteness. And then it got humid, not good for painting and I'm planing on using oil based paint so really not good. And now I have plans for most of the weekend. So it will be at least another week before I get it finished and I couldn't wait that long to show you. More specifically my mother has been bugging me to show her pictures. Luv ya mom!

I helped with the construction.
I measured and marked all the boards.

Gus helped too.
He supervised from the shade under the truck.

Mr. B got to use his "father's day" present. A Kreg Jig. It helps you make perfect pocket holes every time. It's an awesome little tool and made the building process that much easier. His furry and feathery kids got it for him. (in other words it he wanted it and I knew it would make his honey do that much more fun to build, so I used the pretence of father's day to get it.)

Yeah that's a butcher block top on it. We picked it up a few months ago when they were on sale. It is like having a giant cutting board. Although I still use a cutting board on top of it, I'm not ready to mar it up just yet. But let me tell you rolling out crusts and doughs is soooo much easier on this bad boy. The table and chairs we had, well lets just say we got it a few years ago at the Wal-mart and they've seen better days. It was a tad on the wobbly side. Like hold on to the table when we whip up frosting in the kitchen-aid for fear it will bounce of the table wobbly.

Very nice Mr. B. Very nice.

I'll show you some more after photos once I get it painted.
Promise.

Baby Geese!!

Oh yes I did.

You knew I couldn't stay away. I need to have geese, almost like I need air, or water, or food, or chocolate. They are part of the essence of my soul.

Mr. B, probably one of the most awesomest husbands ever, drove me to pick these little guys up last Thursday. He even encouraged me to get all four, rather than just the three I was originally going to purchase.

These little fuzzy-wuzzies are American Buff Geese, my favorite breed. The Buffs we've had in the past have been by far the nicest and friendliest geese.

They are now almost two weeks old. They are spoiled and get to spend the night in the mud room and as of right now during the day as well. At least when we aren't there to watch them. I am finishing up a predator-proof play pen, remember we have hawks, so they will be able to enjoy the fresh air while we are at work.

They have already imprinted on Mr. B and I. They follow us around the yard and are quite sad when we put them to bed for the night. I need to turn the fan on high so I don't hear their peep-peeps while they cry it out.

No names as of yet, soon though. I want to get to know their personalities before we name them. I'm thinking we are going to need a Howard and a Bernadette.

Thursday Night Game

Thursday night Mr. B and I hopped in the car and trekked up to our home town to watch my nephew's game.

I was pretty impressed. I didn't realize that the boys were pitching themselves in third grade.

The team played well. Unfortunately it wasn't enough. It's still early in the season. Maybe we'll have to try and make one more.

Friday afternoon I received this photo from Bruce and Christmas's new parents.

They are getting along well with their new brother Leroy. Everyone is happy and adjusting nicely.

Technical Difficulties Yesterday

Tuesday I took some nice photographs of the irises that are bloom in my garden now. The plan was to get them up last night for you to enjoy. As you can see that didn't happen. Our Internet is slow to begin with. I'm talking second to last house on the line. Speeds slightly faster than dialup. We deal with it, but add a storm with allot of rain and high winds it slows it down. Yeah it took a few minutes just to bring up a web page.

Picture posting was not going to happen. Instead me and the boys snuggled on the couch, ate a giant chicken nacho, put Star Wars: Episode IV in the DVD player, and kept an eye on the weather.

Generations

Yesterday afternoon we went to Mr. B's parents house for a cook out. I was a special cookout. His sister and her husband were visiting from Mississippi. They brought their new baby, Logan.

He's such a handsome little boy. And a good baby. I did earn my auntie badge of honor, yup spit up on. Let's just say I was wearing a slight v neck. I'll let you figure out were that went.

Grandma Francis stopped out. Four generations of Stubbes.

This is probably one of my favorites of the afternoon. Grandma with her great-grandson.
Same laughs.
Priceless.

Buppa Bernath stopped out. Four generations of Bernaths.

Right as we were setting up to take the picture Dillyn announces to me that she's going poop.

I wouldn't want my picture taken during that either.

That's better.
